Enhancing Energy Stability in Shandong with PV+BESS
Dongying, Shandong Province, required an innovative solution to address its peak power demands and energy shortages. The need for a robust energy storage system to support the local power grid and integrate renewable energy sources was critical.
Implementing Advanced PV+BESS for Optimal Power Generation
Cospowers deployed an 8MW/16MWh air-cooled energy storage system for the Dongying Kenli Hongtai Fishing-Light Complementary Power Generation Project. This system offers several key features:
- PV Integration: Combines photovoltaic power with energy storage for efficient, clean energy generation.
- Air-Cooling Technology: Ensures consistent performance and reliability in diverse environmental conditions.
- Grid Support: Provides peak shaving and frequency modulation to stabilize the local power grid.
- Economic Efficiency: Enhances the financial benefits of renewable energy through efficient energy management.
Current industry trends highlight the increasing importance of integrating energy storage with renewable energy sources. This project exemplifies how combining PV with BESS can create advanced, sustainable power solutions.
Realizing Economic and Environmental Benefits with BESS
The project, completed in November 2021 in Kenli, Dongying, Shandong, delivers substantial environmental and economic benefits:
- Generates 53.5249 million KWH of clean electricity annually.
- Realizes economic benefits of 6.3 million yuan.
- Saves 15,255 tons of standard coal annually.
- Reduces emissions significantly: 171.3 tons of SO2, 242,400 tons of CO, 2,155 tons of NO, and 53.5 tons of dust.
- Demonstrates the advanced PV+energy storage mode, serving as a model for future projects.
The Dongying Kenli Hongtai Power Project showcases the successful integration of PV and BESS, addressing local energy needs while promoting sustainable development. By leveraging advanced features and addressing key environmental challenges, this project underscores the vital role of BESS in the transition to a sustainable energy future.
